So i have a 74 charger with a 360 and a 4 barrel thermoquad. Cant find original choke thermostat numbers on the part and the electric choke control number is 3755750. Parts catalog list the thermostat as #3751476/#3751477 and the electric control as #3755770.
So whats the right numbers? What is supposed to be on the car? I know those thermostat numbers are definitely wrong cause they yield results to a 1 barrel/2barrel with a 225 CID. As far as the electric control number 3755750 (mine) and 3755770 are the same part but which is correct?
Also Voltage regulator. Whats the correct one? 3874520? I seen a 74 360 with a 3438150. Those 2 look completely different. Bare with black print or black with yellow print?
Thanks.

SB and /6 got this control unit which is called single stage BBs got this one which is double stage ( sends two diff voltages according with the engine temp, note the ballast attached ) about VR... I think repros are all the same and just a matter of correct PN printed on them just for correct resto... BUT is just my thought about

about thermostat... I have seen two kinds... angled rod and straight rod... my 400 4bbls got the angled one. I guess your one should be the same... straight rods I think are 2 bbls and /6
about PNs... there are a lot of supersedes numbers so... hard to tell
the # sign indicates is a newer number as a replacement from old PN

Okay.. So as far as the choke control the one on the car is a BB double stage... So i can assume that its not correct for that car (from a resto standpoint)? If i wanted to go original then id need the single stage for my 360? So what VR would be considered "Original" as far as print... This one? or this one?

As far as choke thermostat... Yes, mine is angled but why does the parts catalog list the one with the straight rod 3751477/3751476 for the car?

I'm looking for anything and everything that's supposed to be correct to the car. Though to answer the question, I'm looking for both. The electric choke control assembly and the choke assembly to the carb (choke thermostat).
You are correct on the TQ 6453S. Assuming I read correctly the book states the carb should be 6453S "20" for a 74 360 HP AT F (3751434).
There is no 6453S or 20 on my carb. I actually have 2 of them. One on the car and one on the shelf.
The 1 on the car has the numbers "6-2141" and "12" on top and on the base plate it says "9009S"
On the shelf is says "6-2146" and "xx4" on top and on the base plate "9014S"
Not sure I have the right original carb but it seems that 3755750 is the correct electric choke control (which i have) and the 3751484 is the correct choke/thermostat that i need to get.
Now i just gotta figure out if the carbs are correct.

Looks like someone put a different carb on the car at some point. Book says 9014 is a 400 C body and 9009 may be for a truck application as it is not listed in the car parts book. Chrysler always used multiple carbs on vehicles, with very minor differences. Doesn't mean they won't work on your car.
You most likely are supposed to have 6488 or 6453(automatic) or 6452 (Manual) OR at the bottom 9013 (#44). Which either way translates to 3751484 and 3755750. You can go to your Chrysler dealer and have them do a locate on the computer to see if any dealers anywhere have the choke. Car shows with swap meets are a great resource as well.

Thanks for the info. Looks like 6453 will be the one. You posted the previous 2 links to the chokes... You think the dealer would be cheaper?
Also, not trying to make this a carb discussion since this is the electrical part of the forum but I was curious... The "6453" will be located on the base/throttle portion of the carb correct? If thats the case what do the numbers on the top of the carb need to be or are they irrelevant?
Like the one on the car is a "9009s" but what does the "6-2141" and "12" on top stand for?
What should the "6453" carb have numbers wise on top?
Thanks.

Good question, possibly date codes. That is a question for someone who is more versed in date codes than I am. Just about everything has a date code on it somewhere, in some form. www.mmcdetroit.com/Understanding_Date_Codes/9009 look as if it is a carb number but not listed in the 73 or 74 parts book. As I mentioned, possibly a truck carb. again, difference prolly not much.
