I'm a little surprised there isn't a thread here about this. Perhaps I'm the last Photobucket user on this forum , but as you can see by my avatar and signature, all images hosted on free Photobucket accounts are now gone from forums. They still exist in your account, so you can still "store" them there for free, you just can't share them through a forum like this anymore. To regain that right, you have to buy a top tier package, starting at $399 a year. This is a real loss for forums everywhere, from hunting to stamp collecting. Every thread with images hosted on a free account on Photobucket...now gone. Almost everything I've ever posted on this forum is via Photobucket. I actually have 3 accounts, as the first two filled up. It's the only hosting service I've ever used since I started joining forums, beginning with Moparts.com around Y2K. That's a LOT of posting. I'm now faced with downloading each photo from "the bucket" back onto my PC, then reloading them somewhere else for posting again later. The reality is there are maybe two key build threads for vehicles I own (on other forums) that I will attempt to rebuild, fixing all of the broken links. But beyond that, I'll have to re-post them one at a time, as those topics or requests for them come back up. VERY time consuming. It's hard to complain when they were providing a free service. I'd been looking at their pricing for several months, thinking of joining as a paying member to avoid the ads. But the jump from free to $399 is nuts.

Dave, I was waiting for you to post about this. $399 a year? Yeah....I am sure that will be well received.

I already got that crash with imageshack looong time ago... ( that's why you can't see some of the images on the tech section ). Allways say will work on fix that but... will do it... sometime... soon... or maybe not so soon... At this moment I have a free ad image hosting account at www.postimage.io if some of you want tl try it ( allways hated photobucket )

Imageshack...thanks for reminding me. I knew I was on another service before the bucket. I kept recalling PhotoIsland, but I knew that wasn't it. It was Imageshack. Too many years ago. But yeah, not anxious to go through this again. If I knew of another way around it, I'd do it myself or whatever. But I'm just not that IT savvy.

Ive been using "Google photos" and "Amazon prime " photos to store (backup ) my pictures. If you have an Amazon Prime membership, I believe photos are unlimited but videos are not. I use the free Tap Talk app (on my cell phone ). Simply touch the arrow that appears in the area you are typing in and it opens up the photos that are stored on your phone. Select a photo and it appears in your message. Easy.

Can't recall details about imageshack, but allways hated phototrashe... meant, bucket, because no matter what you do, even copying and pasting the DIRECT image link allways take to the photobucket website "frame" instead JUST the clean image on the browser

I "should" worry, as I've lost photos due to PC crashes, and inept staff at Geek Squad, but I digress. So I haven't loaded Tap Talk. I seldom check the forum on my phone, and when I do, I just use the Samsung browser on the phone. But that does look like a neat feature. Is that still using our site to host it then? And I do have Prime. As much as I loath Amazon, we are paying for it, and perhaps I should investigate that as an option. I'm leaning toward Flickr for it's 1TB of free space, Vs. 2GB for the bucket. But this will be my third hosting site move. And Flickr is owned by Yahoo, which itself is being broken up. Not sure what the commitment of the new or old company will be toward Flickr. Would hate to do a bunch of work and have it go away too. While I dislike Amazon, I don't think they are going anywhere soon.

A cool feature when using Amazon ( I do everything from my phone) is that you can view your photos and videos from the Amazon cloud to your TV. Using the "Tap Talk" app to view this Charger forum from your phone does have advertisements though. Nothing intrusive, just a picture link that you scroll passed. No pop ups.
I like the "time line" feature that places the newest to oldest posts in order no matter what forum category its from.
Have to admit I like Amazon.

I dont know if Tap talk can be used on a PC. . Viewing the forum (with Tap Talk) on your phone however will not look anything like viewing it from your phones browser.
