OK THE ATTACHED PICTURE IS NOT MY CAR..........JUST FOR REFERENCE I have a non AC car, and am mounting my heater box back in my car....however as it was out when I bought the car I need some help.....I don't have a photo editor on this laptop so I can't draw an arrow at the area I need help with........ Its the far right upper corner where the air box meets the fresh air inlet in the cowl.....I have three questions... 1.My box was missing what I think is a flap in that area...I think?...what goes there?.....any pictures?.... 2.What type of seal go there?....just a foam seal?? 3.Does this air box attach to the cowel here or just butt up against it? Thanks as always for any help guys.....I am hoping Eckertc1 has been photo happy there...lol

I believe the non A/C cars had a vent pull on both ends of the dash. I see the vent pull for the drivers' side. Is there a pair of holes for a flap rod in the passenger side vent opening? Typically a die cut thick white foam gasket was used to seal the vent boxes to the cowl.
Hope this helps.

Hey Brock,
As luck would have it, the heater box is the only thing I have not touched on the interior of my 71 so it is still in place. I plan to take it out early this week and when I do I will be sure to get A LOT of pics for you.
Hoping to start on it Monday night, so If you haven't got this taken care of by then, I'll have pics ready to go.

Thanks Eck...I really would appreciate photos of this.......I knew I could count on you......The area in question as Brock mentioned is right where the Foam seal would go...is there a flap there?...I know there is one just inside of the box but mine only has a metal hook bracket in place at the opening of the air inlet......no flap.....I am sure something is missing.
Thanks!

Thanks! Hey Greengo, sorry I haven't posted up any pics for you yet. things have been insane at work this week but pics are in progress rest assured. If it helps any, It may be easier to discuss on the phone (I believe I PMed you my phone number at one point). Feel free to drop me a line anytime after 5:30PM Central Time. For the rest of our picture loving members, I will have some pics up as soon as I can get 30 mins of quality time in the garage again without my work phone ringing off the hook.
