well when i did the tests it failed so it seems to be the relay. also when i took the carb off to clean it and put it back on i wasnt getting lil jets of fuel when tryin to start it when i pumped it so i took it off took the top part of the carb off tried to see what was wrong fixed the lil thingy that goes up and down with the throttle. looks like a buttery fly two pins and a spring well i acidently lost the spring it sprung out and now i have no idea where its at. At this point i am so fustrated today i kicked the fence and broke one of the planks oh well im gonna take a break from workin on the old girl for a while cause just seems like everytime i try and do somethin good somethin bad happens. So yeah definatley gonna take a break from her. I know what you mean. . Someimtes you do have to take a break from things, and refocus on stuff. Usualy when you do, and return, you may just find the part that has elluded you. And as one of the many sayings go, old cars, gonna be working on them, some more than others, but imo, its worth it.

It won't even be worth your trouble and effort of pulling it! Step up to the plate, Big Spender, and get a new one!! Some things (and Tom will back me up on this, I'm sure) are just not worth salvaging...and items like alternator heat sinks, starter relays, ballast resistors (and let's see...what ELSE have I tried buying used?......oh yea: mufflers!) are a complete hit or miss proposition. #ThumbDown# Unless someone is giving them away or you "find" one lying in the dirt of the Salvage Yard. Jer.

have you checked your fusible links leading to your bulkhead connector. if they are fried, you may not see them burnt, but they could still be burnt on the inside.
run a test lead with the ignition on and poke a lead through the rubber coating at the front and one at the rear of the link. if no current is showing, there is your problem.

Hi everyone its been awhile thanks jer for the lesson lol and i didnt buy a used one i went ahead and bought another new one. I figured since i was going to replace it why not just spend a lil more and get new. I did pick up som other lil things like some door lock nobs, some panel clips, a couple of spark plug wire seperators, a high beam button for the floor, and a blinker arm for the colum. hi rd yeah ill check that out and see whats up with that. It didnt even cross my mind to check that thank you. And Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year To All!
