Thanks Tom. I did nto know they were being reproduced. But....$175? Call me Bobish, but I think ol' DynoDave and his trusty mig can weld up something for a WHOLE lot less. Maybe even mold it from 'glass for better acoustics.

I own a factory original. Also found one in a JY 72 Polara a few years ago. Pretty sure that the adapter is an B/C/E body part. Is your factory original the same as the one pictured Tom? The one I recall (and again, 35 years ago) seemed to be made of metal brackets of sorts.

It was not something I really wanted to sell, but at the time I needed the $$. Those days are gone now though.

I know the blower motor system. 12V switched. What does the 'on glass' version need to work? It's lighter & quieter

See, I wondered about that too. +/- wires i imagine.
I heard that that car at the junkyard got sold. I always wondered if you could have gotten out without cracking or screwing the window up. Too bad, would have been a cool option to have.

Taking out a rear windshield is not bad. You can usually get away with "muscling" them a little. I have never broken one accidentally when removing.
Electrically, all they need is +/- to work also. I don't know the specifics of a 74 circuit, but it is not unusual for such options to be set up on some kind of timer.

I put one of those 70's stick on ones in my 67 FuryIII years ago. Just hook it to 12v and ground as Tom said and away you go. I'd put it on a keyed plug though. And while I didn't put it on a timer, I did make the on/off switch one that had a BRIGHT light so I wouldn't forget it was on.

electric heater is just 74s option and carries a relay and special wiring for it.
blower never were optioned with two rear speakers on B bodies. Adaptors were C and E bodies option,. not A or B.
thats whay I have known. On parts catalog, the adaptor is not listed for A and B

Wow all this talk about rear defrost and heated windows....... Who Actually drives there car in cold weather?....... I know after spending all the coin I am on mine it will strictly be a fair weather car only!... I ripped out the rear deforst and mouted two nice 6 x 9 speakers!....thats all I need for rear air movement As A matter of fact I have a rear defrost unit that I bought from Thomas cheap.........Maybe I should give er back to Tom or sell it off for the same high price Tom charged me.... $1 !!....
