No place for the 3 outboard mounts to secure. Observation #1It's interesting that the bottom of that adapter has 2 6x9 openings, and a plate is screwed into place over one of them to add the blower motor. This would appear to allow some flexibility in the design. But... Observation #2...as seen in this picture, it's the blower motor that is centered right under the speaker opening. I had always ASSUMED that for sound quality reasons (and I know that early 70s factory stereos were not things of high fidelity beauty) that the speaker would be right under the opening into the car, and the blower would be offset to the side. It couldn't hurt air flow all that much to have the blower on the side, but I would think it would fairly well ruin the sound quality from that 6x9 to have it over on the side.

yes, the plate to the blower motor is wrong located... it definitelly attachs on the offset opening. The package tray side opening is for the speaker
