No winter driving here with the Chargers. But I will say I've been caught in the rain a couple times, and it comes in handy then. But, for me - if there is a switch for it, it has to work. Needless to say, I'll be looking for the adapter - but I won't pay PG Classic's price for it. I don't need it THAT bad.

Wow all this talk about rear defrost and heated windows....... Who Actually drives there car in cold weather?....... I know after spending all the coin I am on mine it will strictly be a fair weather car only!... I ripped out the rear deforst and mouted two nice 6 x 9 speakers!....thats all I need for rear air movement As A matter of fact I have a rear defrost unit that I bought from Thomas cheap.........Maybe I should give er back to Tom or sell it off for the same high price Tom charged me.... $1 !!.... You know who to call if you decide to part with it.

Well, now that's settled ... if anyone has one of the adapters, I'd be interested in that. PM or e-mail me.

My 74se has the electric window defogger with the lines in the glass, The car was orderded with it, I would prefer the blower type, the lines in the glass distort the view when looking thru the rear view mirror, makes all the cars following you look funny.

does the rear window defroster look different in a 72 then 73? I removed one from a 72 and it had a tube from the blower to a plastic part that was hooked to the long slit in the middle of the rear window, it didn't look anything like the part pictured above? I have had a few like this and also have a rear window out of a 74 with the electric wires but I have never seen the one posted in this thread? Is it 73 only? was there more then one style?

The one pictured above was ONLY used if the vehicle was optioned with the Rear Window Defogger (H31) AND Dual Rear Compartment Speakers (R32). Because the R32 option was not listed as available for the Coronet/Charger (in 1971 anyway...), I believe these can only be found on C & E bodies. After looking closely at the photos I have, I don't think this adapter will fit under the package tray of the Charger... Tom, did you ever do a 'test' fit of the one you have?
