I used Gloss black but i will be sending them out to be powder coated in a few weeks as soon as i find a place to do it. The paint chips easily and needs to be touched up. I am hoping the powder coat will be much stronger. My set was very pitted in the grill part but the chrome was nice but i liked the black out look so i went for it.

Ok I just purchased a rebuilt 400 longblock for 1000 dollars and sold the heads off it for 400 so I got 600 invested!! It would have cost me more to have my 400 redone so I thought it was a good buy! I already had the 440 source heads so I sold the rebuilt ones. I am going to pull my motor in a couple of weeks and would like to know how to match up the codes to see if it is numbers matching to my car. If it is I will rebuild myself and take my time and if it isnt I will most likely get rid of it. Thanks

Just some food for thought here but I read in Old Cars weekly of cars being discovered after years of being stolen!! One was a Corvette and the guy just had it all restored and went to register in Illinois i beleve and he lost it and all the money he put into it. I want to say around 75000$!! Another was a VW bus that was found in a shipping crate ready to be shipped overseas. Run the vin number thru your DMV it may cost 10 or 20 bucks but it is worth it in the long run

Well I got the lattest info this afternoon from him. He is now headed to Cuba to set up huge floating docks platforms that will serve as a port in haiti as theres are destroyed and the cannnot get the medical ships in to port!! So they are going to set them up in Cuba and float them over. Its strange to me that Nick is being issued full Combat gear and flack Jackets for a rescue effort! But i was never in the services so mabey that is standered but he mentioned somthing about the Chinese but clammed up when i asked what he meant. He tends to be a bit dramatic just like his Mom!! LOL

Been on standby since yesterday. He seems excited to go but I am a little nervous it looks to be a real mess over there according to news footage!!! He is in the Navy and is a Seabee His whole crew has been called into duty to help the rescue efforts and cleanup. Sounds like he is loading on the ship sometime today.
