Apparently, there is quite a bit of debate as to whether these claims are true. if you look at the comments in the Hemmings link that Dave posted, you will see some interesting if not soap opera like "back and forth" between the current owner and Tim Wellborn. Apparently, both are convinced that they are the owners of the last Hemi car. Interesting reading.

Close but not the same car. That is a 440 car, no Ramcharger, no hide away headlights. On the flip side I would totally love to own that car.

You are right! Since it was being sold by the place that restored the Hemi...I assumed it was the same car.

According to Vin# Tim does own the last Hemi Charger.I have not seen the car up close but a friend of mine who also restores cars has seen this car upclose and has said that it is a poor restoration. He did not clarify what was poorly done but it does look good in the pics. Sam

I find it hard to believe it is a poor restoration. By watching the videos it looks like they have done everything possible that can be done to the car. Perhaps it is not as accurate as it could be? Regardless if it is the last Hemi or not it is one heck of a car and I'd love to have it in my garage.

For those who care...
MCG was giving away magazines at Carlisle, so Bob and I each gladly accepted a July copy. There is an article titled "Who has the last Hemi produced" The answer being that nobody really knows. After reading the article, I see no reason to believe that this car restored by RK is the last car. (VIN sequence is not a definitive measure)
As far as the quality of the resto....I am hardly qualified to be a judge of that. However, the color scheme of the tail light bezels does not look right to me. If the shop did not have the knowledge to get an obvious part like that right.....what other details are "wrong"? I would bet that any criticisms of the restoration have to do with details like that.
