Sounds like a lot of excellent progress, do you have any pictures of your work? Click on the link below. Since I posted last time I discovered that the rear brakes that I had a "mechanic" do many years ago are all f/u. Two primary shoes on the left, two secondary shoes on the right. The shoes on the left are the new ones, the rights have been on since I bought the car in 95 from the looks of them. The self adjusting assembly on both sides aren't even there. And this car got a yearly inspection, except for the last 4 years. Just another example of if you want it done right, do it yourself. I should have the car finished by the end of this weekend. www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,69737.0.html Looks great Brian!

I discovered that coil-over shocks need to be removed from the car for adjustments. I turned the adjusters at the bottom of the shocks to increase spring pressure, not noticing, the springs were turning also.....unscrewing the top of the shocks. The springs popped off. :oI had to disassemble the front end, remove and re-assemble the shocks, then put it all back together again . The only damage was cosmetic, as the powdercoating got chipped up on the coil springs . Oh well....we live and learn.

Finally fired my stroked and supercharged big block. Had to shut it down after a few minutes because the headers were so hot they caught the #3 plug wire on fire (small, cosmetic damage after I blew the fire out) Now I get to tune it so it won't melt down. But it sure sounded great!!

Installed Pertronix conversion and coil. Installed new 750 Edelbrock carb. Discovered old coil was wired up backwards. Car runs a bit smoother at Idle in park, not so good in gear at idle.....but has a new issue. In park, the brake pedal feels good....but when I put it in gear, the pedal gets real hard. (like a bad booster) I figure it is a vacuum issue. Since I left my vac gauges at work....I said the heck with it, parked the car and watched the Steelers lose. Will try and look at it some more on Wednesday. I figure that I probably has a vacuum leak. Need to get throttle cable/lever better situated. The thing was a wee bit too tight, barely holding throttle plates open.
