That car looks VERY solid........are you painting the car prior to selling?.......or selling as is? Steve, I am keeping this one. I have owned it for 17 years now. At a few different times it was used as my daily driver. For the past 10-12 years, it has basically been neglected. It still is "relatively" solid. Years of neglect and poor storage on my part have taken some toll on the car. There are small holes in the trunk and in the rear floor pan. Also, a small rust thru on the cowl that allows water inside the car. Nothing bad enough to require any panel replacement, but enough to make me kind of ticked off at myself for not treating it better. It is going to need to be taken all the way down to bare metal as the current paint/primer is real thick and lifting off in spots. The passenger door has a bunch of filler in it that is starting to lift and crack...but no big deal. A pair of Rallye doors will fix that issue. ;D Right now, I am just trying to get the car back up to snuff mechanically....and get it cleaned up and" water tight" to prevent any further decay. This is the car that I was going to put the 440 I got from Bob in. However, getting the 440 assembled like I want it....and getting the trans back from a rebuild have taken more $$ and time than I anticipated. So, for now...I am just leaving the 318 in there, getting it squared away...and putting the 440 up for the winter. I will be selling the 72 SE I have, which is needs a little more body work, primarily the trunk pan. It too is a relatively solid car, I simply chose to keep the car that needed the least body work. While I do not plan on doing a lot to the SE before selling it, I do plan to get it put back together to where it is a running/driving car. Basically a good weeks worth of work, minimal expense, using what parts I already have.

I seen pictures of your son working on this car in a T shirt.....I do not feel sorry for you!!!.......I have to prestart my car in the morning and turn on the heated seats just so the leather don't freeze my Butt!....
however my garage is toasty and cast off so I am slowly into working with both arms again......
I dyed that dash you sold me, and have it all laid in place......I am looking for someone much skinnier then me to reach up and put the nuts on the pad!
And with all the work you are doing to THREE cars.....dont you think your should start your own thread....

And with all the work you are doing to THREE cars.....dont you think your should start your own thread.... My own thread? I don't know. My track record for actually working on my cars is not so good. That I am doing something now...outside, is rather amazing in itself. I have the drivers side head off. Passenger side is going to be harder. I was hoping I could take the head off with the exhaust manifold attached. Nope....as it obstructs several of the lower head bolts. A couple of the exhaust studs nuts/bolt heads are no longer any discernible size, due to rust. Getting them off is going to a pain in the arse, because there is minimal room to work on that side. I may resort to using my C/P air hammer with a chisel attachment. That is not my first choice though.... since I would have to drive up to my job and get it. The temps here are decent. Around 35 when I started this morning. Supposed to hit 50 later in the day. It was mid 50's yesterday when my son was in short sleeves. He was supposed to be helping again today.....have not seen him yet.

I rebuilt my 440 Six pack for my 70 & got a few hundred miles on it before the snow came down here in Mich.

I finally installed my headliner. Now I just need to warm it up a little and see if the few small wrinkles will come out or if I need to do some more stretching.

Got the heads back on and torqued. Got the intake manifold back on and secured. Had a brief......F#%&*!! moment when I put the heads back on. I had them back on...and had run the bolts down snug with my air ratchet. I went to look thru my gasket set and saw a bag of valve guide seals that I had previously overlooked. Turns out they give you one bag of 16 intake seals of 2 different style...and another bag of 8 exhaust seals. I had put the wrong seals on all of the exhaust valves. The whole thing seemed kind dumb from the start as the seals I took off were all the same...but I had 8 each of three different style to put back on. So.....I pulled the heads back off...compressed the exhaust valves and put the right (hopefully) ones on.
