Oh boy. I guess when you add another system, you add the possibility for more trouble.

Is this fun?" Then 10 minutes later I'm daydreaming about the next big misadventure I can get into with the thing. It all starts with, "I want........" Good luck.

Well, I went through the service manual last night. Checked the switch at the column, good. Check the stop lamp switch, good ... needed adjustment but good. Checked the wiring to the servo, good. In fact the manual says that if you take the double plug and unplug it while the system is on, you will hear a click and I did. Servo setting up or some such thing. I adjusted the linkage to the carb best I could according to the instructions ... still doesn't work. Servo maybe ... vacuum seems to be fine. What is left not to work??

As these age, I'm reading more posts in threads about failed vacuum diaphragms. Our own Nacho was working on a locally made reproduction, if I recall correctly. So yes, if everything else is working, but it won't hold speed, that may be the issue.
I know you have lots of reference materials, and know how to do your diagnosis, so I'm not going to throw a bunch of ideas out there, other than the comment above. I know there is a factory training manual that's an overview of how that system works. I'll make some calls at lunch and see what I can find. Maybe something in there will help.
