My 74SE has no dash lights but, it does have tail lights and all other lights. Just no dash lights at all. Haven't checked to see if ALL the dash lights are burned out. Only had the car about 2 months. First time out this last Saturday and no dash lights. Anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance for any help.

Nacho knows those dashes like the back of his hand, and I'm sure he'll get you straightened out...
Meanwhile I know the first thing(s) I would do is check for a blown fuse, followed by a loose wire check, then a bulb check...I would find it hugely coincidental if ALL bulbs blew out at once...that's why I would check them last.
I'm not sure if the voltage limiter is on the same circuit as the bulbs, or if it's just for the gauges.
Again, we'll all know all the possibles, when Nacho logs in here.

do you have parking lights ?
If not... fuse blow
then if yes...
check one of the top fuses... one of them, drives JUST cluster and shifter, radio, accesories switches nd ashtray lights... all dimmer related.
cluster lights are driven by two fuses, one before switch what drives also parking lights and the other after the switch just for cluster lights.
check for tech archives and look at 73 wiring diagrams what are basically same than 74. Fuses are labeled there. Cluster light are driven by orange line.

Thanks to all for the help. Brock... I didn't check the dimmer, I still have high and low beam headlights.Could it still be a problem? Jer... Fuses look good, I'll get a multi-meter to test them tomorrow. and I'll check for the wiring diagram to find the right wire(s) and see if they are loose. Nacho...Yes I have Park lights. I will check the diagrams to find the fuse block layout. SO the orange wire is what I need to find for the cluster.
Thanks guys I will get on tomorrow as quick as I can. Then I got school and MORE home work, all this after I get off work. THANKS again this site is super.

I can see the use of the term "dimmer" referring to turning your "bright" headlights to "dim". Only that is not what is usually implied.
I propose a new first step for you in your troubleshooting of your extinguished dashlighting. Wait till nightfall. Go out & start your Charger. Turn on your lights. Now turn the knob that you just pulled to turn on your lights (edit) counterclockwise. Yes turn it counterclockwise(unedit). Many modern cars have a separate thumbwheel or knob for adjusting the brightness of the interior lighting (including guage lights) - but not our famous Chargers. It's an all in one adjuster.
If that don't work - then start with Jers advise using Nachos directions.
If needed I can take pics of the underdash wiring for you - since mine is sitting on my workbench.

Guilty as charged, Your Brockness!!I thought you were talking about the headlight dimmer switch too! MY BAD! But hey, feel free to post those pics of that underdash wiring anytime, Brock... ESPECIALLY if the wires are actually hooked up to their respective gauges, switches and devices!! Oh, and be sure and clean the wires up enough to where we can all see the individual trace-color line within each (otherwise) solid colored wire, wouldja mind?

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT
SORRY.....Clockwise dims interior lights. Turn CounterClockwise - like you're going to turn on the dome light. Again it's CounterClockwise.
(Got my directions mistyped & all hung up in the game)

Hi guy not much to reply. On my way to school. Haven't had time to do much, except back into a light pole and bend the bumper on my 1992 Dakota. However I did think you were talking about the dimmer switch for the headlights. Yes I did try the headlight switch to turn on the dash lights first thing;last Saturday night late the dome light works GREAT. I might need those pictures yet Brock.. I'll get back with you, Thanks!

Got some cleaning up on the wiring harness to do before good pics will be possible - should have time this Saturday - if work doesn't interfere before my gig that night. It's all still hooked up to a cluster
