Going to warn you now..... Your turn signal lever won't fit the replacement switch. Like virtually all reproduction parts for our cars....it is not made correctly. You are going to have to fit it (cut new switch) with a dremel or cutting wheel.
There is a little "tit" on the T/S lever that is supposed to engage the switch. The "notch" on the replacement switch is inadequate for the tit.
Doing the fitting work off the car is going to be a lot easier.
Im assuming that this is what your describing. My old switch "tit" appears to have been grinded. So my old switch appears to be a replacement from long ago. Here is a close up picture to compare them. Also a picture with the end of the turn signal lever for reference. It looks like both sides of the tit were grinded on an angle. Is this how you did yours?

Is this how you did yours? Ok , I figured out what attachment worked for me. Its a cutting disc. Here are pictures for the next person to that may need to do this. I used (down strokes). SLOWLY! CHECKING MULTIPLE TIMES! you dont want to take too much off.

Also forgot to mention that I put a piece of paper towel with a hole to go over the tit and cover the switch. Just to avoid metal dust from getting all over the switch.

LOL, If you recall the thread began with with an ignition switch change and horn issue. I still have to get it all back together. Hopfully changing the turn signal switch will fix the horn . Hopefully the new ignition switch will fix the no spark issue. Either way is a great learning experience thanks to the knowledge of everyone on this forum.

You got it...great! I didn't discover the issue until I had a new "rebuilt" column installed in my car. So I pulled the t/s up as much as I could and used a cutting wheel on a air cut off tool. A Dremel would have been a much better choice.

Ah, ok...the new unit has a slot, but it's not wide enough. I was a bit confused with the first set of pics.
