I’m finely ready to buy a vinyl top but it appears black and white are the only options in cobra grain, is that right? I cant even find a brown or dark tan vinyl top in any grain. I kinda wanted to keep the color i have but looks like that ain’t happening. Anyone know of options for color besides vinyl paint?

In 73 Cobra grain came in green, white and black. In 74 they added gold and parchment.

Ordered new black cobra grain top from Legendary. Got the old top off, kinda like skinning a dear, it was on there. Found something under se emblems on both sides I’m not sure what to do with. Not able to load pics but it’s acrack in the body filler on both sides, I was told to use panel bond on these areas. Anyone ever deal with that?

Ya that makes sense looking at pics, thanks for that. I removed all loose filler and replaced with new and that’s all squared away now. New top came in and to my surprise it does not have cloth type backing but seems to be of good quality. The new top is kinda like a rubber mat on underside (no padding) but I think that will be better to work with and hold up better over time. Getting old glue off was a job and after using all kinds of solvents I ended up using gasoline to get that last bit that nothing else would take off. I ended up asking advice from an upholstery guy that’s been doing it from the 70s and he said gas was what they always used. The cobra grain is a different look and I’m curious if it was used on any other cars, it’s sure going to change the looks. Waiting on good weather and warm temps to install top, we’ve had lots of rain this year and being its last of December may haft to wait awhile. I do appreciate all the input, thanks guys and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Gip, I don't believe I have ever seen it on any other car that I remember. It matches (or should) the louver inserts which bugs me when people either don't install the correct top or my big bug is when they remove the vinyl and leave the windows. It's like having two different shoes on, looks awful. Anyway, glad you got that set. It is easy to clean too because since it is kind of a rubber material. Happy New year!

Took top out to lay on car to check fit, there was a flaw in vinyl so got to send back. Legendary said they would replace and reimburse for shipping. It’s always something seems like.
