I am pretty sure this is the status light for the rear window defogger. My question is, why does the bulb have a orange cover given that there is a blue lens in the end of the metal tube that goes over the bulb. Second question, it looks like there was a mounting bracket attached to the metal tube. Does anybody have a picture of what the complete status light looks like? Where exactly does the status light mount? I am guessing under dash, beside defogger switch, pointed towards the drivers knee? Does anyone have any first hand knowledge? I know this is not one of the most common options on our cars. I have a feeling The Great and Powerful Nacho, The Wizard of everything Mopar will have the answer.

My guess on the orange cover is if it is a white light behind the blue lens it might be too bright and wash out the color. I've got nothing on how or where it mounts.

First time I see an orange cover. It makes no sense having a blue lense on housing and add an orange/amber cover? I guess you could try to check how it looks with and without that cover.
About pics. I can't recall If I have any. The electric grid setup optioned on 74 as deffoger is a really uncommon setup. I have saved couple of pics around but no one mounted.
As far I recall the status signal mounts into the bezel itself. The bezel carries a hole for that I think. The system is delay relay controled and the light works while the system is working, then turns off once time/temperature is reached.
I have not enough info about this and I think you are the 1st or 2nd guy that I know having this setup. One floated on once on FBBO board.

Of course mine has to be different. My bezel does not appear to have a place for the status light.

I have a feeling The Great and Powerful Nacho, The Wizard of everything Mopar will have the answer. I've never seen one of those covers either. But I'm sure Nacho loves the "Great and Powerful" title. Maybe I'll update his profile with that!
