That would be perhaps be the easiest way to go...to modify a factory piece meant to work with those scoops. But since none of this is factory, a full custom system might be easier (and less costly). THIS setup had an asking price of $700 4 years ago.

I looked into the air grabber, and someone quoted $6000 (Canadian) for the full job, and I think that was after purchasing and installing the correct hood! That's a lot to get that little thingy popping up and down over a 383 with a perfectly good original hood. I rather like the dual scoops. My charger has a 1970 engine and super bee decals, so it kinda-sorta makes sense to have 70-style superbee scoops with the right engine call-outs.

But I bet something similar could be made on fiberglass. Even using solenoids as actuators but vacuum actuators could be used to to make them work like originals with a switch, OR even by the manifold vacuum, just like the secondary inlet of the stock air cleaner ( or the bottom air trap used on some 340s and 440s ), where the vacuum makes them keep close and giving throttle the door will be released to be opened

That's a one-or-the-other thing. Those two scoops are going to mess up the visual flow of the decal. Here's a scoop that would work well - This guy has a similar stripe on his flat hood, flowing back nicely into the hood scoop. Here is another scoop like the above, but taller and longer. I don't like this as much - The 440 six pack scoop might work - The e body scoop would be nice if it fits inside the decal - Maybe it'd be o.k. if it goes outside the decal too.

I always liked that scoop.

I really love the way it flows with the hood stripe on this road runner -
but it doesn't look like our snoopy is wide enough to flow around the E-body scoop. The scoop may visually crowd the R/T or Super Bee logo in the snoopy too.

Here's a guy who went the twin scoop route -

Personally I don't like the blacked out hood treatment on the 3rd gen. The hood is too long for it.

Check out the stripe and hood scoop on this one.
