that make me remember what "Uncle Tony" on Youtube said about EFI conversions. it is nice to have as long as it works, but carburetor issues are easyer and probably cheaper to fix, especially when the car leaves you stranded far from home..

Very cool! Have any pictures you can share? I love my Fitech EFI I installed 2 years ago........until now. My ECU took a crap for some reason and wiped out all of the data on the hand held device. Now the car won't start up. It cranks once and stops. The ECU makes a goofy noise and the hand held keeps saying ECU no Response. Called their support line and the guy wasn't much help. Had me check all of the wiring for power which I already did numerous times. Then he said I probably have a bad ECU. If thats the case, replacement will be about 800 bucks . Gonna go at again this afternoon and see if I get lucky. Didn't that think crap out on you coming back from Frankenmuth a couple of years ago?

$800. Ouch. Isn't that whole system less than a grand?

$800. Ouch. Isn't that whole system less than a grand? Yep and it got towed home. Luckily it was under warranty 2 years ago. Not no more. The whole system which included the fuel pump which has to go in the tank, inline fuel filter, ignition box and cabling cost $1200. Not to mention what I paid for the labor cost to have it installed. The mechanic that installed it quit and went on to be a truck mechanic where he made much more money. I don't blame him and was happy for him. I tried again yesterday with their tech support person and results were the same. Even faced timed him. I was somewhat pissed and I am not gonna give them any more money. So, luckily we had our Harsens Island show today and came across the folks from Minor Customs. They will take a look and see what they find. He recommends to junk the Fitech and go to the Holy Sniper. They have been seeing a lot of issues with the Fitech product. I will set up a time to have the car towed to their shop and see what they see. To be continued.

That's terrible Hank. But I'm sorry to say that the things you have said jive with what I have read online....Fitech support is horrible, and the Holley system is pretty well thought of.

Not sure if this qualifies as having done something to my Charger but I’m that much closer My car still has the factory 14” Rallye rims on it with 225/70-14 tires all around. I’m pretty sure being a ‘73 rim it’s only 6-1/2” wide as well. They look good but not great and don’t have that beefy look I want. While working at the last spring car show and flea market At Englishtown NJ a couple guys rolled in from Staten Island driving a green ‘71 super bee and a yellow ‘73 Rallye Charger that was a clone to mine. The guys I work with were a buzz saying there’s a car like Mike’s that just rolled in . They got me down there to meet up with them. Good guys and after talking about what we had and what we wanted to do I learned the fellow bought his super be with 15” Rallye rims he didn’t want. He returned his bee to the base rims his car came with. He offered to sell me his rims so I jumped on it ! I knew the ‘71 had wider rims but these might have been an aftermarket set but I’m more than good with it. When I picked them up I found them stamped “15 x 8” Custom” ! These also came with the trim rings and cost me $200 ! Ya, I’m pretty happy with this purchase considering they are in perfect condition too, no paint work required. The plan is to mount 245/60-15 26” diameter tires up front and 275/60-15 28” diameter tires in the rear. Yes I know the taller rear tires will reduce my drive ratio but I’ve got that covered. Did I mention I picked up another rear center section? Yup, a completely rebuilt 8-3/4 489 suregrip with a Richmond 3:91 gear set. I figure with the 28” tall tire the 3:91 will have the same ratio as a 26” tall tire with a 3:64 ratio. Going to that from a 3:23 should prove interesting.

Decided to have a new pinion seal installed yesterday instead of doing it myself. Backed in the drive and see something dripping. Power steering pressure line leaking. Ugh! I guess I should have replaced the 50 yr old part long ago. Luckliy found one locally. Got that repaired along with stripping the pass side door seal, cleaning some rust and freshening up the paint. Hopefully I can get the seal back on this week. Next weekend new exhaust!

Well finally got the chance to finish the passenger door. Installed the outside window felt, door seal and the two end seals. Go to crank the window up for the last time and the slider broke. Panels back off again...
