Hey Guys, Long time So a quick follow up. I worked as much as I could with the limitations I had (no garage, dodgy weather...no pun). I had it towed to a good shop here in town that's been doing some work on it for me. Rebuilt carb, new tires, master cylinder, brake system, cap/rotor/wires along with every other little misc things to make it road worthy. I'll pick it up this Saturday, but happy I've been able to move forward on it. I'll be doing much more as I save my pennies! Cheers, Andy

Hey Andy! Sounds like a ton of progress. You should be in the road soon!

Yes, it's ready to drive! I'm leaving at the shop storage for the time being as there's an exhaust leak and they need to replace trans linkage bushings, etc.
The big question I have is how much cosmetic stuff will cost. Vinyl top will need replacing and of course....a paint job. That'll be quite pricey, so some of that will have to wait.

Depending on who you have doing the vinyl top, probably anywhere from $500 to $900. Get the vinyl from Legendary or Year One. Paint is another dark hole on the dark side . I got lucky on my paint job since my neighbor does just that for a living. Good luck.

Yeah, cosmetics can come later. For now, get it out and enjoy it. It WILL put a smile on your face!
Have any pictures?

Not the greatest but they did put new tires on and buff up the wheels a bit. I'm shopping for new wheels now, but that'll be a couple months till it's complete. Pic

Thanks! It feels REALLY good to finally put some TLC into this dream. Long past due, but happy I'm able to do it now. For those of you that may have some insight. Any idea on ball park cost for vinyl top, paint job, etc? I will have to eventually take care of cleaning up the interior as well as the headliner, etc. I suppose I shouldn't get ahead of myself as I know some of you have taken years to renovate As a side note, the shop feels is may be beneficial to disconnect the AC unit, keep it, but just make it inoperable.
